1. Who We Are

RigMate Pro is a product of NovaBlue Marine AS, a Norwegian registered company providing business management software for the yacht rigging industry.

For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), as applicable in the EEA through the EEA Agreement, we are the data controller.

2. What Data We Collect

We collect and process the following personal data:

• Email address — provided when you sign up to our waitlist or create an account
• Name and business name — provided during account registration
• Device and browser information — device type, referrer URL, and UTM campaign parameters, collected automatically when you visit our site
• Usage data — how you interact with the application, including features used and session duration

We do not collect payment card details. Any future payment processing will be handled by a PCI-compliant third-party provider.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your personal data for the following purposes:

• To provide and maintain the service — creating your account, managing your subscription, and delivering the core functionality of RigMate Pro
• To communicate with you — sending service updates, beta access information, and responding to your enquiries
• To improve the product — analysing usage patterns to understand which features are valuable and where we can improve
• To send marketing communications — only with your consent, and you can unsubscribe at any time

4. Legal Basis for Processing

Under GDPR, we process your data on the following legal bases:

• Consent — when you sign up to our waitlist or opt in to marketing communications
• Contract — when processing is necessary to provide the service you've signed up for
• Legitimate interests — for product improvement and analytics, where this doesn't override your rights

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database platform with enterprise-grade security. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Our infrastructure is hosted in the EU.

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We may share data with:

• Service providers — hosting (Vercel, Supabase), email delivery, and analytics tools that help us operate the service. These providers are bound by data processing agreements.
• Legal requirements — if required by law, regulation, or legal process

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. If you request account deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory purposes.

Waitlist data (email and signup metadata) is retained until the service launches and you either create an account or request removal.

8. Your Rights

Under GDPR, you have the following rights:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Rectification — request correction of inaccurate data
• Erasure — request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten")
• Restriction — request that we limit how we use your data
• Portability — request your data in a structured, machine-readable format
• Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests
• Withdraw consent — withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent

9. Cookies

Our landing page does not use cookies for tracking. We use localStorage in the application for session management and user preferences only. No third-party advertising or tracking cookies are used.

10. International Transfers

Your data may be processed in countries outside the EEA where our service providers operate. Where this occurs, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, including Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) as approved under GDPR.

11. Children's Data

RigMate Pro is a professional business tool and is not intended for use by individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by email or through the application. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
